YouTube Urdu version launched in Pakistan
LAHORE: While world’s largest video sharing website YouTube still remains officially banned in Pakistan, the website administration has announced that they have launched a localised version of video sharing portal in Pakistan which will also be available in Urdu language.
The website has also got a new customised logo with “PK” for users in Pakistan.
The website was banned in Pakistan in September 2012, when it refused the content that insulted Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The company and Pakistani government remained in talks for establishment of a localised version of website which would not carry such content.
According to a statement of Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager Zeffri Yusof, the company has launched YouTube’s localised versions for Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal in the latest update.

However, following stiff opposition from India, Colombo is likely to drop its plan to follow with the deal, that would have cost $400 million. the Pakistani plane was considered as a replacement for the Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF) ageing fleet of Israeli Kfirs and MiG-27s. Pakistan had been pushing for the sale of 10 to 12 JF-17s, each priced about $35 million.

YouTube is now officially ‘unblocked’ in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – World’s largest video sharing website YouTube has finally been unblocked by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) after the website administration introduced a localised version of web portal in Pakistan.
The website was blocked in September 17, 2012, when the Google which is parent company of YouTube refused to remove blasphemous content from the website.

In order to access Whatsapp in Urdu hit the update button on your Google Play Store; simply change your handset’s language settings to Urdu.
The update version 2.12.367 also brings additional features such as per chat custom notification settings and mute options, mark chats as unread or read and lowering the data usage on WhatsApp calls.
